Eastgate Village Hall Eastgate is 3 miles west of Stanhope in Weardale. The village has evidence of Roman habitation a Roman Altar to Silvanus being discovered on the river banks. Separate kitchen equipped with range cooker, fridge, microwave, crockery & cutlery. Square tables for 4 &upholstered stacking chairs. Activities The hall is mainly hired for village social events & private functions by people in the local area. Alpha meeting, young farmers club are currently meeting here. Whist drives are held monthly & domino drives less regular. Public meetings & local elections.

Disabled access is available with ramps, adapted lavatory and stairlift. Activities Carpet bowls, sewing group, quilting groups and events, fundraising activities, coffee mornings. Other events have included quiz night, guided walks, slide show and talks, annual auctions and Westgate in Bloom in July, exhibitions of local works in August, Christmas shopping night December.
