2D have been contracted by the Churches Agency for Regeneration in Wear Valley to co-ordinate a worthwhile and exciting project that will promote the work of churches in the local community but will also inform visitors of the history of worship in Wear Valley.

The Churches’ Agency applied for a grant to Wear Valley District Council to produce an illustrated brochure containing information about all the places of worship in Wear Valley. We received a generous grant; a large vote of confidence in the role that faith communities have.

This information will be produced in a handy format and will let people know about the local churches, their time of services, and the phone number of a local point of contact. This will enable local residents and visitors to come and see a wide range of interesting churches, and hopefully will encourage them to worship with us. Such information will increase the attractions for tourists in the District, on whom so much of our local economy relies.

A more detailed format would be a useful resource for those who need to use premises in a particular locality, such as a venue for an adult education class, or a public meeting.
