James Deacon-Brown, is the Learning With Sport Co-ordinator in partnership with 2D, Voluntary and Community Support Organisation, and Wear Valley District Council.

The ‘Learning with Sport’ project aims to enhance employability by offering free training to individuals living in the following Neighbourhood Renewal Funded areas: Woodhouse Close, Willington, Sunnybrow, Coundon, Dene Valley,Tow Law, Crook, Henknowle, St Helens Auckland, and West Auckland.

James’s can advise people on many different sports qualifications which can open opportunities to youth and/or community work, PE teaching in schools or the Army, physical training instructing or progression into less physically demanding jobs, such as lecturing, sports development, management or administration. Some examples of courses are listed below.

He can also offer non- sport related qualifications, including advice and referrals via the ‘Choices’ programme, which is made up of local voluntary, community, education and business organisations that provide training and work placements.
